On Monday, April 8, no one in Saudi Arabia saw the Shawwal Crescent Moon. No reports came in to Saudi Arabia’s moon-sighting committee either.

Ramadan, considered sacred by Muslims, will last 30 days from April 9 until Eid Al Fitar is celebrated on April 10.

Eid Al Fitar marks the end of Ramadan, an Islamic month of fasting. This day is celebrated with parties and breaks from fasting with friends and family.

Emirates Astronomical Society predicts Eid will start on April 10, 2016.

On Tuesday in Pakistan, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene in Islamabad to witness the sighting of Shawwal-ul-Mukarram crescent.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over this meeting as committee chairman.

At this conference, representatives from various institutions, such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Pakistan Meteorological Department, and the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, will also participate.

Members from Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar Zonals will participate in this discussion.
