Pakistan captain Babar Azam is close to achieving a new record in T20I cricket. This could benefit him beat the Indians, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Babar is currently leading the way with 3,823 runs from T20I cricket. He is also number three on our list of players with the most runs in the most compact format of the game.
The most runs scored during T20I cricket:
Virat Kohli: 4,037 (109 innings)
Rohit Sharma 3,974 (143)
Babar Azam: 3,823 (107)
Pakistan will play seven Twenty20I matches against Ireland and England in March, a fantastic opportunity for Babar to surpass the Indian pair.
Babar will require just 151 runs to reach the number of runs that Sharma scored, while 215 runs can surpass Kohli.
Today, the Pakistan team took off for Dublin, Ireland, from Lahore via Dubai.
The Pakistan team will participate in three T20Is in Ireland and then four games in England. Following this England game, Pakistan will leave for the United States to play in the T20 World Cup.
The 18-player team revealed to play in Ireland and England T20Is is being cut to just 15 for 2024’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 following the first T20I against England on 22 May.
