Russian President Vladimir Putin has commenced his remarkable fifth term as Russia’s president after being sworn into office during a grand ceremony at Andreyevsky Hall, within the extravagant surroundings of the Grand Kremlin Palace.

In putting his right hand on Russia’s constitution, Putin pledged his allegiance and proclaimed a new term of six years as president.

Despite widespread Western diplomatic boycotts based on questions about the legitimacy of the March elections, Putin, 71, gave a speech in his inaugural address that stressed the power of unity and determination to conquer obstacles together.

The Russian president has said that we will finish all of our plans and we will be able to win together. According to the foreign press, Vladimir Putin’s inaugural swearing-in ceremony occurred in May 2000.
